- Overall performance increase

- Confusion tuned to be easier: It no longer has a random 2–5 turn counter. It is now 1–3 turns, and the chance of successfully attacking while confused has been increased from 50% to 75%.
- Poké Center entrance collision fixed.
- Rustboro Garden Pokémon spawning fixed: The garden can no longer spawn a billion Pokémon. Leaving the area will now delete the Pokémon that spawned there.
- Wattson safety switch added: Users who saved before this patch may still experience getting trapped. A new switch at the end of the area will turn off ALL switches.
- Lucious fight fixed: The Ace Index has been fixed, and Fly has been removed since it wasn’t ready yet.

- Rustboro infinite loading fix (hopefully!). This was caused by the floor not being ready due to poor machine performance, so the fix is to manually hand-place new collisions. If I missed any, I’m sorry.
- Starter select screen now supports controllers.
- Burn and Poison now properly faint Pokémon instead of causing the battle to hang.
- Paralysis now has a 70% chance to allow an attack instead of 30%. The 30% chance felt like it almost never succeeded.
- No more infinite berries from trainers.
- Soft resetting in Wattson’s Gym no longer traps you.
- Loading screen now waits until the level is fully loaded instead of waiting for floor confirmation.
- Shedinja is back to 1 HP instead of inheriting Ninjask’s pre-evolution HP.
- Any Shedinja you already have should now be updated.
- Fixed the player being prematurely released from the loading transition when the level isn’t ready. Machines that take longer to load data may experience longer loading screen intervals.
- Fixed Pokémon showing up as “Met in a mysterious place.”
- Pokémon already caught with this issue may still show up as “Met in a mysterious place.”
- Evolved Pokémon are once again registered in the Pokédex. The last patch accidentally broke this.
- Pokémon in Rustboro Garden should no longer trap you in a broken tile.
- Pokémon Abilities now appear in the battle summary window.
- Pokémon Abilities showing up as “None” should now be fixed as well.

How to update:
If you have the Itch.io Launcher or Game Jolt Launcher, close the game and reopen it. The update should download automatically.
If you downloaded the game via ZIP file, you’ll need to delete the game folder and redownload it. Your save file will be fine.

Gamma Emerald v1.1.9 includes two priority fixes released shortly after the Early Access launch:
- Fixed the berry issue.
- Fixed the Route 109 issue.
Other reported Early Access bugs are still being worked on and may be addressed in later updates.

Important: Do Not Download the Old Demo by Mistake
Gamma Emerald’s May 2025 demo is a separate release.
The old demo featured the mysterious island and shipwreck storyline and is not the current Early Access game.
If a page or file is labelled Demo v3.1.0, it belongs to the older demo release.

How to Download Gamma Emerald on Windows
Step 1 — Choose a Download Source
Use either the Itch.io or Game Jolt Early Access button above.
Step 2 — Download the Windows ZIP
Download the current Windows package.
The current file is:
gamma-emerald-ea-windows.zip
The download is currently approximately 1.4 GB.
Step 3 — Wait for the Download to Finish
Allow the complete ZIP file to download before opening it.
Step 4 — Extract the ZIP
Do not run Gamma Emerald directly from the compressed ZIP.
In Windows:
- Right-click the downloaded ZIP file.
- Select Extract All.
- Choose where you want to keep the Gamma Emerald folder.
- Wait for Windows to finish extracting the files.
Step 5 — Open the Extracted Folder
Open the newly extracted Gamma Emerald folder.
Step 6 — Launch Gamma Emerald
Run the included Windows executable from the extracted folder.
Step 7 — Allow the First Startup to Complete
The first startup may take several minutes because shaders need to compile.
Do not immediately force-close the game if the first launch takes longer than expected.
First Launch and Shader Compilation
Gamma Emerald performs shader compilation during its first startup.
This process can take several minutes.
A longer first launch is expected and does not automatically indicate that the game has crashed.
Allow the process to complete.

Known Early Access Issues
Gamma Emerald remains in Early Access and some issues may occur.
Slow Area Loading
Lower-end systems may take longer to load some routes, towns or other areas.
Battle Hitching
Systems with limited RAM or slower storage may experience brief pauses during some battle events.
These can include events such as:
- Beginning a battle
- Switching Pokemon
- Receiving EXP
- Attacking
First-Launch Delay
Shader compilation can make the first startup take several minutes.
Input Switching
Repeatedly switching between keyboard, mouse and controller may cause unexpected interface behaviour.
For the most consistent experience, use one primary input method during a play session.
Save Regularly
Gamma Emerald is still in Early Access.
Save your progress regularly in case you encounter an unexpected bug or crash.

No.
Demo v3.1.0 belongs to Gamma Emerald’s older May 2025 demo.
That release used a separate non-canon mysterious-island storyline.
The current Early Access version instead begins the main Hoenn journey and currently runs from Littleroot Town through Mauville City.
Use the Early Access download if you want the current Gamma Emerald experience.
